L Factor or L moment? Lawrentians Take the Stage

This past Saturday, each Circle and Crescent House participated in a new “fundatory” event: The L Factor talent show. Inspired by the television show X Factor, Lawrenceville’s spin off showcased the spirit, community, and creativity of each House. The event was received with enthusiasm and engagement from the Lawrenceville community.

Cleve
With their reenactment of Netflix’s hit show Squid Game, members of the Cleve House utilized  water guns and a backdrop curtain to recreate iconic scenes of the TV show, displaying their creativity and commitment. Brenner Emo ’27 noted that the House first decided to do Squid Game three months ago when the Student Council announced that Houses would have to perform. He noted that “the preparation was a bit rushed, but it was a lot of fun and everyone was involved.” Despite the pools of puddles that collected following the performance, the Cleve House’s performance was entertaining and demonstrated the effort and energy they put into the talent show.

McClellan
The McClellan House performed a sing-along of “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, a classic anthem for building enthusiasm. “Practicing for it was really fun, especially because we were outside the night before,” Crystal Ayansola ’27 remarked. She did, however, state that the “performance was kind of nerve-racking.”McClellan’s performance, while not exceptional or very organized (sorry!), did show some effort and unity as a House.

Hamill
Singing their rendition of “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, complete with a live guitar performance and vocalization of the trumpet instrumentals, the Hamill House surely had a notable performance. Hamill House President Kellen Fisher ’26 stated that there were “extensive rehearsals in the common room with the song chosen by [the] House Council, but it took the whole House coming together to really get people enthusiastic.” Although the performance was relatively simple, Hamill was able to put on a memorable show that genuinely interested and engaged participants.

With each House exiting the Kirby Arts Center (KAC) with spirit, unity, and pride, the L Factor talent show was a huge success in bringing Lawrentians closer together, and not only within their House. By allowing students to step out of their comfort zones and to cheer on their peers, L Factor made for a perfect opportunity to make memories as a community—with the Stanley House taking home the win!

And hey, who doesn’t love racking up some House points?
